I remember the old school Samsonite commercials with the Gorilla throwing around suitcases, the sold me on Samsonite a while ago. It is 2012 though and there are a lot of luggage brands available now. One that I've heard great things about has been the TravelPro brand. I have some friends who have had them for years, and they always fit in the overhead compartment which is a huge plus.
