I happen to know that one of my coworkers is being fired. Should I tell him?

If he is a good friend then I think he would rather hear the news from you rather than your boss. But if he is just a coworker getting fired then you should just stay out of it. This is a workplace and another person getting fired shouldn't be something to get involved with.

Your co-worker made his bed and now he has to lie in it. He must've done something that they're going to cut ties with him. It's best for you to save your job and just let your co-worker being fired be between him and management. Odds are, he's never going to know that you knew he was getting fired. What if you were to tell the co-worker he was getting fired and he went nuts and deleted all the company's important files? They'd eventually know that you told him...or worse, what if they changed their mind at the last minute and he was going to keep his job if you hadn't spoke up...now you're both fired!
