Deciding how to dress for an interview is probably one of the most important decisions you will ever make, although that might sound like hyperbole. Simply saying "Just wear a suit" is not enough, because looks only go so far.
Your dress during an interview should achieve two goals. The first is that you need to look professional. The second is that you need to be comfortable. If you are uncomfortable wearing a heavily-starched shirt, then don't wear it. If a pair of shoes pinch your toes, don't wear them. Looking comfortable is akin to looking confident. Just don't wear cargo shorts.
